FAKRO L-shaped combination windows are a unique architectural solution that allows you to fully exploit the potential of your attic, making it not only more spacious, but also brighter, warmer and more comfortable for everyday use. Installed in the knee wall beneath the roof window, they create a natural extension of the glazing, giving the room more light, better daylight diffusion and an optical enlargement of the interior. This type of solution significantly improves the aesthetic and functional qualities of the attic, while perfectly harmonising with modern architecture, where harmony of proportions, functionality and attention to every structural detail are important.
The FAKRO range of L-shaped combination windows has been designed to meet the expectations of both individual investors and designers looking for flexible solutions tailored to a variety of building conditions. The range includes non-opening, tilt, and tilt-and-turn models – each precisely tailored to the character of the room and the individual user needs. Variants made of natural wood, such as the BXP, BVP, BLP and BRP, are characterised by a refined appearance, a pleasant microclimate inside and a timeless style that fits perfectly into nature-inspired arrangements. On the other hand, PVC structure – PLP, PRP or PVP – are an excellent choice for rooms with high humidity, where water resistance, ease of cleaning and durability for many years are key. High-quality workmanship, precisely milled profiles, the use of steel reinforcements and a multi-chamber frame construction translate into the stability of the entire structure, while at the same time enabling full integration with roof windows, creating a uniform, elegant glazing composition.
Every FAKRO L-shaped combination window is equipped with an advanced P50 glazing unit, which is a crucial element of the thermal insulation system that allows you to maintain an optimal temperature inside regardless of the season. The 44 mm thick triple-glazed construction, filled with argon and equipped with a warm TGI spacer, effectively reduces energy loss, achieving a Uw coefficient of up to 0.8 W/m²K in wooden windows. The thermoPro technology minimises the risk of thermal bridges and water vapour condensation on the glass surface, resulting in significantly greater thermal comfort and lower heating bills. At the same time, the use of acoustic film and P2A class laminated glass reduces noise levels by up to 42 dB in wooden windows, making the attic room quiet, cosy and conducive to relaxation. The easy-to-clean coatings additionally reduce dirt accumulation by utilising the phenomenon of photocatalysis – dust and pollen decompose under the influence of sunlight and are then washed away by rain, making window cleaning virtually maintenance-free.
The design of FAKRO L-shaped combination windows was developed in cooperation with the Institute of Industrial Design, resulting in a modern, minimalist form in which every detail serves both aesthetic and technical purposes. The anthracite veneer in RAL 7016, also available in black (RAL 9005) and grey-brown (RAL 7022) versions, perfectly matches modern roofs and facades, emphasising the uniform, elegant shape of the building. The interior can be adapted to individual styles – wooden versions introduce warmth and natural character, while white, smooth PVC profiles create a clean and spacious effect, particularly appreciated in modern, minimalist arrangements.
Every FAKRO L-shaped combination window is designed to be convenient, intuitive and safe for everyday use. Tilt and tilt-and-turn mechanisms allow for precise adjustment of fresh air flow, while specially designed handles with locks enable controlled ventilation while protecting against unauthorised opening. Tilt-and-turn models, such as the BLP, BLU, BRP, PRP and PLP, allow for full sash opening to 90°, which significantly facilitates cleaning the glass and increases functionality in everyday use. An additional advantage is the option to choose the opening side – left or right – which allows the window to be adapted to the specific room layout, ensuring maximum ergonomics and comfort.
