Reliable response in emergency situations
The purpose of every smoke extraction system is to respond quickly to a fire hazard and effectively remove smoke, which poses a major threat to human life in the first few minutes after fire detection. The OSD 23 optical smoke detector ensures early fire detection even at the smouldering stage – before flames appear or temperatures rise. Upon detecting smoke, it immediately sends a signal to the smoke ventilation control unit, activating the entire system. The detector operates independently of the emergency power supply and is resistant to fluctuations in temperature, pressure and humidity, minimising false alarms. This makes it suitable for use in stairwells and common areas of multi-family buildings.
The heart of the system are the CPS-B1 and RZN 4408-K control units, which are responsible for the complete management of smoke ventilation window operation. In an emergency situation, the control units immediately activate the actuators, and in the event of a power failure, the RZN 4408-K model continues to operate for up to 72 hours thanks to its built-in emergency power supply. This is crucial for safety in situations where a power cut may prevent other systems in the building from functioning properly.
Intuitive operation and support for daily ventilation
The FAKRO smoke ventilation system is not only a solution in case of fire – its functionality also extends to everyday room ventilation. The LP1 ventilation switch allows manual opening of the FSP smoke ventilation window for a specified period of time, ensuring interior ventilation without the need to open windows. After the set time has elapsed, the smoke ventilation window closes automatically, preventing the interior from cooling down or precipitation from entering. The LP1 is a simple, surface-mounted device that is ideal for residential buildings – for example, in attics or stairwells – where gravity ventilation plays a significant role.
The system is complemented by the RT 45 button, which enables instant manual activation of the smoke ventilation procedure. With built-in LEDs, the user can see the system’s status and any errors, which significantly increases the level of control and safety. This solution is ideal for situations where, in addition to automatic sensors, manual confirmation or initiation of the procedure is required – for example, by technical personnel or residents if smoke is noticed before the detector does it.
A complete system in a single product line
The greatest advantage of the FAKRO smoke ventilation system is the full compatibility of all components – both in terms of technology and installation. The user does not need to purchase components from different manufacturers – the CPS-B1 control unit supports up to 8 fire detectors and buttons per line, works with electromagnetic catches and rain sensors. The RZN 4408-K, on the other hand, allows up to 4 smoke ventilation windows to be connected and interacts with sensors and alarm buttons in an automated and reliable manner.
