Safe and stable entrance to the attic
When entering the attic, stability and secure support are crucial. The LXH handrail and LXH-A attic handrail are accessories that improve safety and make it easier to move around on the ladder, especially when carrying items. Made of durable, deformation-resistant metal, they ensure a secure grip and long service life. The handrail is mounted to the upper section of the ladder, while the attic handrail is installed near the ceiling opening, increasing stability when accessing the attic. An additional safety feature is the LXB-P balustrade, which protects the opening from the attic side. Made of solid pinewood and mounted on metal brackets, it provides a solid and durable protection for the opening’s edge, eliminating the risk of accidental falls. All components feature an aesthetically pleasing finish and are compatible with the full range of FAKRO loft ladders.
Comfort of use and ease of opening
Although loft ladders are not used every day, unfolding and folding them should be smooth and effortless. The LXM-W (for wooden loft ladders) and LXM-M (for metal loft ladders) unloading mechanisms significantly improve the ergonomics of use. By applying carefully selected springs and joints, the ladder opens and closes with minimal resistance, allowing for safe operation. These mechanisms can be mounted on either side of the ladder, depending on the arrangement of the other components. This type of technical support eliminates the risk of the ladder falling suddenly, increasing safety and extending the service life of the entire structure.
Refined design – comfort and precise fit
In many cases, loft ladders are installed in thick ceilings or require the ladder length to be adjusted to the room height. In such situations, complementary accessories are the ideal solution – an additional LXT tread and an LSS extension tread. The first one, made of solid wood, is installed between the last tread and the attic floor, allowing for a smooth and safe transition from the ladder to the ceiling. The second one – designed for scissors loft ladders – allows for the extension of the structure without having to replace the entire assembly. Both elements increase comfort and allow for precise adjustment of the loft ladder to the specific room height, while maintaining its stability and durability.
Tightness, insulation and protection against dirt
Well-made insulation is one of the key elements that impact a home's energy efficiency. The LXW upper hatch has been designed to improve the tightness of the loft ladder structure and reduce the penetration of cool air and dust from the unheated attic. Its 3.6 cm thick thermally insulated hatch, perimeter seal and gas actuator guarantee a tight and comfortable closure. In combination with the LXN box extension, which allows the loft ladder box to be raised, it creates a set dedicated to thicker ceilings and improves the thermal parameters of the entire structure. For even greater functionality, the hatch can be equipped with the LXZ handle, allowing it to be opened from the attic side. This combination not only provides better insulation but also an aesthetically pleasing, durable ceiling finish.
