Renovation windows
Designed to replace existing windows, installed without the need for complete roof reconstruction.

The modernisation of flat roofs often requires replacing old skylights or glazing, which, over the years, lose their tightness, become dull, let in too little light or fail to meet modern safety standards. FAKRO renovation windows for flat roofs have been designed with such situations in mind. Their design allows them to be installed on existing bases, which significantly reduces the scope of work, shortens the implementation time and reduces the overall investment costs. By bringing more daylight into the interior, they create a more comfortable space, and thanks to modern glazing units and multi-chamber PVC profiles, users can enjoy improved thermal and acoustic comfort compared to previous solutions. All renovation models feature an elegant, flat sash design with a glazing unit flush with the perimeter aluminium profile, giving the roof a modern, minimalist character. The blackened perimeter of the glass masks the bonding point, creating a uniform surface that looks aesthetically pleasing on both residential and public buildings.
One of the greatest advantages of renovation windows is their ability to be installed on existing bases. With this solution no modification of the roof structure is needed, which is particularly important in older buildings, where non-standard skylights, rare dimensions or structures requiring an individual approach are often found. Both the non-opening DXA G33 and DXA G53 models, as well as the solar DEA G33 and DEA G53 ones, can be installed in roofs with pitches from 0° to 15°, which covers the vast majority of flat roofs in residential, commercial and industrial buildings. The option to additionally raise the window using the XRD-R base facilitates installation in places where the existing structure requires height adjustment or additional lighting.
FAKRO renovation windows feature durable and safe glazing units: single-chamber (G33 version) or double-chamber (G53 version). This provides users with a structure that can translate into greater thermal comfort compared to old skylights, which were often made of single plastic panels or glass without low-emission coatings. The laminated inner pane protects against shattering in case of damage, while the toughened outer pane increases resistance to hail, impact and mechanical loads. Flat roof renovation windows have been tested for mechanical resistance and have achieved UL1500, DL2500 and SB1200 ratings, confirming their durability in strong winds, snow and dynamic loads.
The DEA G33 Z-Wave Solar and DEA G53 Z-Wave Solar models are solutions designed for those who expect convenience and automation. Power supply via a solar panel eliminates the need for wiring, significantly simplifying installation, especially in renovation projects. The battery also works on cloudy days, and integration with the Z-Wave system allows for control with a single remote control or integration with a smart home system. The sash can be tilted up to 25 cm to effectively ventilate the room, and a rain sensor automatically closes the sash during rainfall. This solution is particularly advantageous in buildings where access to windows is difficult, e.g. in high-ceilinged halls, warehouses, above stairwells or in living rooms with high ceilings.
Modern FAKRO renovation windows fit in with current architectural trends thanks to their flat form, elegant blackened glazing and a choice of cladding colours: black RAL 9005, anthracite RAL 7016 or grey-brown RAL 7022. The internal PVC profiles in RAL 9010 harmonise with most interior designs, so replacing the window does not require any changes to the room's décor. Multi-chamber PVC profiles are resistant to moisture and temperature, ensuring long-term, maintenance-free durability. In addition, some of the material is recycled, supporting a sustainable approach to production and operation.
