Garage door panel

The 40 mm thick panel is made of two steel sheets with a polyurethane (PUR) foam core that tightly fills the entire space between the sheets. The panel's design guarantees excellent thermal performance – the heat transfer coefficient for the entire door is U = 1.3 W/m²K – as well as high resistance to noise and deformation. The joints between the segments are made using a tongue-and-groove system, ensuring a smooth surface and eliminating thermal bridges.

Exterior colour scheme

The exterior panels is available in four textures: woodgrain, smooth, deep matt and sandgrain, which differ in texture and gloss level. The woodgrain variant replicates the grain of wood and is the most resistant to micro-scratches, smooth offers a perfectly smooth surface with a modern look, and sandgrain has a delicate, matt texture. The standard colours are RAL 9016 (white) and RAL 7016 (anthracite), with Golden Oak, Winchester and Walnut decors available as options.

Peripheral seals

The peripheral sealing system consists of flexible profiles made of EPDM rubber resistant to ageing, UV radiation and temperature fluctuations. The seals are installed along the side guide rails, in the top profile and in the bottom panel, creating a continuous barrier that limits air and water infiltration. With the appropriately selected material hardness, they ensure a tight fit to the substrate and the edges of the guide rails, improving the thermal and acoustic parameters of the entire structure.

Inter-panel seals

The joints between individual segments are equipped with EPDM lip seals, which compensate for minor dimensional deviations and eliminate air and water penetration in the joint area. The seal profile has been designed to maintain constant pressure between the panels during door operation, regardless of temperature and direction of movement. This element also serves to dampen vibrations, contributing to the quiet and stable operation of the entire door.

Spring breakage protection

The torsion spring system is equipped with a locking mechanism which, in the event of a spring breakage, immediately stops the shaft rotation and prevents the door from falling down suddenly. This safety feature operates mechanically, requiring no power supply, and its design is adapted for repeated use after spring replacement. The solution meets the requirements of EN 13241 for safety in use.

Front torsion springs

Torsion springs are located at the front of the garage door, on the lintel, above the door. The springs are made of hardened steel wire with a diameter adapted to the door weight, coated with a layer of zinc and designed for 20,000 operating cycles. Each spring is factory-balanced and marked according to its torque parameter, ensuring smooth operation and uniform door lifting.

Guide rollers

The guide rollers are made of abrasion-resistant plastic and mounted on ball bearings with increased durability. They are set in side hinges, which ensure stable garage door guidance in the guide rails and minimise noise during operation.

Emergency power supply

The emergency power supply is an optional component of the automation system that allows the garage door to be opened and closed in the event of a power outage. The device uses a battery with a capacity sufficient for several full drive cycles and automatically switches to emergency power mode. The ABS plastic housing protects the system from moisture, and the built-in system protects against deep cell discharge.

Drives and operation

The PROFI F garage door can work with many drive models, including Aperto 550 L (two 2-channel remote controls), Aperto 800 XL (two 2-channel remote controls), Sommer BASE+ 800 N (one 4-channel remote control), Sommer BASE+ 1100 N (one 4-channel remote control) and the Marantec Comfort 260–380 series with various remote control configurations. Lower-power models are designed for garage doors up to 3.5 m wide, while units with higher torque (e.g. 800 XL or 1100 N) are designed for garage doors weighing over 100 kg. These drives feature soft start and stop, obstacle detection system and the option of connecting external control devices such as photocells or a code keypad.

Photocells

The photocell set operates in infrared and is part of a safety system that stops the garage door movement when the beam between the transmitter and receiver is interrupted. The devices are mounted at the bottom edge of the guide rails, and in the version with angle adjustment, its range is up to 20 m, while the version without adjustment has a range of 8 m. The IP 54-rated housing provides resistance to moisture and dust, and the adjustable mounting angle allows for precise adjustment of the beam axis. Photocells are an optional extra.

Remote controls

The radio control system uses 868 MHz remote controls with Rolling Code encryption. Two-channel and four-channel versions are available, enabling operation of one or more garage doors. The remote control casing is made of impact-resistant plastic.

Internal bolt

The internal bolt acts as a mechanical security device, preventing the garage door from being opened from the outside. It is made of a steel rod, allowing for additional locking of the garage door. The use of a bolt increases garage door security and is a key element in preventing forced entry. The bolt is an optional extra.

Interior colours

The inner side of the panels features a white RAL 9016 finish. The paint coating is highly resistant to abrasion and chemicals used in garages. The light-coloured surface improves interior lighting and makes it easier to keep clean.

Fittings and guide rails

The fittings, hinges and guide rails are made of 1.5 mm thick galvanised steel, ensuring adequate rigidity and corrosion resistance. The colour of the elements remains natural – silver galvanised.

Guide rail

The guide rail is a component of the drive system responsible for transferring movement from the actuator to the bogie wheel. It is made of a closed-section steel profile protected against corrosion by a zinc coating. Inside the guide rail there is a drive system available in two variants: with a toothed belt or a steel chain. The belt version is characterised by quieter and smoother operation, which is particularly important in garages located directly next to the residential part of the building. The chain drive, on the other hand, is more resistant to loads and is recommended for larger or heavily used garage doors. The guide rail has a bogie wheel with sliding elements that reduce vibration, and it is mounted to the ceiling using height-adjustable steel brackets.
