Complete protection and durability for your roof

Roofing membranes are one of the key elements of modern roof structures, without which it would be difficult to imagine a durable and energy-efficient home. Their task is to protect insulation layers from moisture and to allow water vapour to escape freely from inside the building. Thanks to them, thermal insulation retains its properties and the roof structure remains safe and dry for many years. Modern membranes combine advanced technologies, high mechanical strength and resistance to changing weather conditions. They also enable faster and easier installation, which does not require the use of a ventilation gap. This makes them a solution for both single-family homes and large commercial projects.

Effective moisture removal

One of the most important functions of roofing membranes is to remove moisture from thermal insulation layers. Vapour permeability rated at Sd = 0.015 m in popular EUROTOP models allows for effective water vapour drainage, ensuring the insulation retains its properties. Moisture, which could lead to dampness in mineral wool and reduce its thermal parameters, is safely removed to the outside. This is particularly important in climates where buildings are intensively heated in winter and temperature differences increase the risk of water vapour condensation. In the case of the EUROTOP TPU 210T membrane, the Sd coefficient is 0.15 m, which means more controlled moisture flow and stable maintenance of the microclimate within the roof layers. These solutions help prevent moisture from entering the insulation and maintain thermal comfort inside the room. Proper regulation of vapour permeability allows the roof to function as a ‘breathable’ structure, which increases the durability of the entire building.

Protection against leaks and precipitation

The second key role of roofing membranes is to protect the structure from rain and snow. All FAKRO membranes meet the requirements of the W1 waterproofing class, confirming their tightness and reliability even in harsh weather conditions. Thanks to their three-layer construction, the membranes effectively block water while allowing water vapour to escape from the interior. This combination of two functions – vapour permeability and waterproofing – keeps the roof dry both inside and out. High tightness is of great importance in the event of severe weather conditions, such as intense storms or driven rain, which can pose a threat to poorly secured structures. The use of membranes ensures that the roof is fully protected and residents can feel safe regardless of the weather. Airtightness also affects the durability of the entire structure – a dry roof truss and insulation are the basis for a long-lasting building.

Resistance to temperatures and UV radiation

Another advantage of roofing membranes is their resistance to harsh weather conditions. All models retain their properties across a wide temperature range – from -40°C to +120°C – making them safe in both cold winters and hot summers. In addition, the membranes can be exposed to UV radiation for 3 to even 4 months, as in the case of EUROTOP TPU 210T, which gives the roofing team greater flexibility during installation. This means that there is no need to worry about immediately covering the roof with the final covering, and the work can be carried out at a comfortable pace. These technical parameters translate into the safety of the entire investment and peace of mind for the investor, who can be sure that the roof is properly protected already at the construction stage. It is this resistance that makes these membranes so highly valued among professionals.
