Cassette
The VMU Z-Wave awning blind cassette, made of corrosion-resistant aluminium, conceals the entire mechanism and fabric, protecting it from rain, dust and snow. Its compact form makes the awning blind virtually invisible when rolled up – only a subtle line on the façade reveals its presence. The cassette design guarantees smooth operation of the system while emphasising the building's modern character. The VMU Z-Wave is available in four colour options, allowing it to match windows and façades without any visual compromise.
Guide rails
The aluminium guide rails of the VMU Z-Wave awning blind are designed to allow the fabric to move quietly, stably and without resistance – even in strong winds. The system uses a side ZIP lock, which keeps the fabric taut, preventing it from billowing and slipping out of the track. The guide rails are thin, elegant and colour-coordinated with the cassette, so they are inconspicuous and do not interfere with the aesthetics of the façade. Their durability and resistance to external conditions guarantee long and trouble-free operation of the entire system.
Fabric
The fabric used in the VMU Z-Wave awning blind is extremely durable and resistant to mechanical damage, UV radiation and changing weather conditions. It remains lightweight and flexible, allowing the awning blind to unfold smoothly and without creases. The fabric is available in four light transmission options – from complete blackout to slight darkening (0–10%), allowing you to perfectly adjust the level of sun protection to your individual needs. A wide range of colours allows you to harmoniously match the awning blind to the appearance of your building.

Fabric placed outside the window
In all FAKRO vertical roll-up awning models, the fabric is mounted on the outside of the glazing, which allows it to block sunlight before it reaches the glazing, eliminating the hot greenhouse effect. As a result, roll-up awnings effectively reduce interior heating by up to 10°C, ensuring thermal comfort without the need for air conditioning.
UV radiation reduction and interior protection
FAKRO vertical roll-up awnings block up to 90% of UV radiation, protecting furniture, floors and decorative elements from fading and degradation. In addition, the fabric is available in various transparency degrees, allowing for comfortable interior lighting without annoying glare.
Privacy and insect screen function
When rolled down, the vertical roll-up awning provides privacy during the day, limiting visibility from the outside while maintaining contact with the surroundings. Many models also function as a mosquito screen, allowing for ventilation without worrying about insects.
