The VML Z-Wave Solar operates completely autonomously — it rolls down and up depending on light intensity. Summer mode provides shade when the sun is at its strongest, while winter mode allows you to use its heat to passively warm the interior. When sunlight levels are low, the fabric rolls up automatically, protecting the room from energy loss. The cover can also be switched to semi-automatic mode or controlled remotely via a remote control. The VML Z-Wave Solar can also be integrated with the Smart Home system using the HC3 Lite gateway, allowing for smarphone-based operation and scheduling.

Energy independence and simple installation
In locations where supplying electricity would be difficult or costly, the VML Z-Wave Solar awning blind, requiring no electrical connection, is the perfect solution. Inside the cassette there are batteries charged by a solar panel. The cover works best on windows facing south, east or west, where sunlight has constant access to the panel. This power supply eliminates the need for wiring, and remote control allows you to operate the awning blind without getting up from your chair.
The VML Z-Wave Solar awning blind cassette is installed in the upper section of the window. This is where the fabric is rolled up, moving along guiding cables. The housing not only protects the fabric from the weather, but also looks exceptionally subtle against the façade. The cassette is available in four colours: white, grey, brown and black, and upon special request in any shade from the RAL palette.

Fabric placed outside the window
In all FAKRO vertical roll-up awning models, the fabric is mounted on the outside of the glazing, which allows it to block sunlight before it reaches the glazing, eliminating the hot greenhouse effect. As a result, roll-up awnings effectively reduce interior heating by up to 10°C, ensuring thermal comfort without the need for air conditioning.
UV radiation reduction and interior protection
FAKRO vertical roll-up awnings block up to 90% of UV radiation, protecting furniture, floors and decorative elements from fading and degradation. In addition, the fabric is available in various transparency degrees, allowing for comfortable interior lighting without annoying glare.
Privacy and insect screen function
When rolled down, the vertical roll-up awning provides privacy during the day, limiting visibility from the outside while maintaining contact with the surroundings. Many models also function as a mosquito screen, allowing for ventilation without worrying about insects.
