Light tunnel for pitched roofs SRZ-L

Not every room has access to windows, but that does not mean it has to remain dark. The SRZ-L light tunnel allows daylight to enter where there used to be semi-darkness – not only in rooms without windows, but also in spaces directly under the roof, such as attics or lofts. Simple installation and automatic operation ensure that natural light appears exactly where it is needed – without the need for a power supply or daily maintenance.

Natural light where there used to be none

The SRZ-L model is suitable for installation on roofs with pitches from 15° to 60°, with profiled roofing up to 45 mm. Daylight enters through the glass in the outer section of the light tunnel, goes through a reflective aluminum tube and then reaches the diffuser in the ceiling, which gently diffuses it. The light transmitting tube is tightly sealed with light-blocking tapes to prevent dust from entering the interior. In addition, the light tunnel illuminates the space directly below the installation site of the external element, i.e. the attic or loft.

Aesthetics and functionality in one

The elegant design of the SRZ-L light tunnel makes it a perfect match for any architectural style, from modern to classic. The ceiling section is also a decorative element that emphasises the unique character of your home. The SRZ-L operates automatically, using daylight, but can also serve as a source of lighting after dark. It is enough to install an additional SLO light kit in the diffuser. This gives the light tunnel another purpose – after sunset, it illuminates the room with artificial light.

Glass

The upper section of the SRZ-L light tunnel is made of 4 mm thick toughened glass, housed in a weather-resistant aluminium frame. It effectively protects against precipitation, wind gusts and dirt, while looking aesthetically pleasing on the roof surface. The flat shape of the external element means that it blends in well with roofing materials – from tiles to metal roofing – without disturbing the visual harmony of the building.

External cladding

The external cladding of the light tunnel provides durable protection of the structure against water, wind and changing weather conditions. Made of corrosion‑resistant sheet metal, it features an integrated flashing that ensures a watertight connection with the roof surface without the need for additional mounting elements. The black RAL 9005 finish blends harmoniously with modern roofing materials, giving the light tunnel an aesthetically pleasing appearance.

Light transmitting tube

The light tunnel conceals inside an aluminium tube with a very high reflectivity coefficient – as much as 98%. It is this element that is responsible for the precise transmission of sunlight from the roof into the building. The mirrored surface effectively directs the light, regardless of the angle or length of the route. The length of the light transmitting tube is 210 cm for sizes 250 and 350, and 180 cm for size 550 due to the lack of SRK elbows in the set. If necessary, the length of the tube can be increased up to 12 metres using additional SRM modules, allowing the light tunnel to be adapted to the specific conditions of the attic.

Diffuser

The system is completed with a ceiling diffuser with a prismatic surface, which gently diffuses the light and gives it a pleasant, soft character. It eliminates sharp shadows and spot reflections, ensuring visual comfort.. An additional SLO light kit can be installed inside it – then the light tunnel can also be used after dark, providing 24/7 lighting.
