The SFD-Z light tunnel is a proven solution for pitched roofs with profiled roofing up to 45 mm high. It allows daylight to be brought in where the installation of a traditional roof or vertical window is impossible or uneconomical. Designed for both single-family homes and commercial buildings. Thanks to its flexible design, it easily adapts to the roof structure and allows for lighting rooms without access to natural light, such as wardrobes, bathrooms, corridors and stairwells.

Comfort and light all day long
Natural light can easily reach rooms far from windows thanks to the SFD-Z light tunnel. Sunlight passes through the transparent dome and is directed into the building via a flexible light transmitting tube. Its inner surface effectively reflects light, and the sealing tapes used eliminate gaps and protect the interior from dust and dirt. The light reaches the diffuser in the ceiling, which distributes it evenly, giving the room a friendly, bright atmosphere – without sharp contrasts and spot reflections.

Dome
The outer element of the SFD-Z light tunnel is a transparent dome made of durable, weather-resistant plastic. Its design provides protection against damage and UV radiation, ensuring long-term reliability. The rounded shape allows for effective light capture at different times of the day while effectively draining rainwater from the roof surface. The dome fits profiled roof tiles, creating a seamless integration with the roof covering.
Light transmitting tube
The inner channel of the light tunnel is a flexible light transmitting tube with a length of 210 cm. Its flexible form allows it to easily bypass rafters or other structural elements, which significantly facilitates installation and reduces interference with the roof structure. It transports sunlight from the dome to the interior of the building, preserving its natural colour and intensity. The tube can be extended using additional SLM modules to a maximum recommended length of 400 cm for a diameter of 350 mm and up to 600 cm for a diameter of 550 mm.
Diffuser
The light tunnel system is completed with a round diffuser mounted in the ceiling, which evenly distributes light throughout the room. Its matt, prismatic surface eliminates glare and gives the light a soft, pleasant character. The diffuser's design also allows for the installation of an additional light source – the SLO light kit – enabling the interior to be illuminated even after dark.
External cladding
The external cladding of the light tunnel provides durable protection of the structure against water, wind and changing weather conditions. Made of corrosion‑resistant sheet metal, it features an integrated flashing that ensures a watertight connection with the roof surface without the need for additional mounting elements. The flashing, available in anthracite RAL 7016, grey‑brown RAL 7022 or black RAL 9005, blends harmoniously with modern roofing materials, giving the structure an aesthetically pleasing appearance.
