Dome
The upper part of the SFD-S light tunnel is a transparent dome made of durable, weather-resistant plastic. Its contoured shape allows it to effectively capture sunlight regardless of the angle of incidence. The dome is resistant to damage and UV radiation, ensuring long-term reliability. The rounded design facilitates quick water runoff and minimises dirt accumulation. It forms the outer part of the system, discreetly blending in with the roof appearance.
Light transmitting tube
The interior of the SFD-S light tunnel is equipped with a flexible tube with a length of 210 cm. Its design allows for easy installation, easily bypassing structural elements in the attic, significantly simplifying installation and reducing its cost. The tube transmits light from the dome into the building interior, preserving its natural colour and intensity. If necessary, it can be extended using additional SLM modules – up to a maximum recommended length of 400 cm for a tube with a diameter of 350 mm and up to 600 cm for a diameter of 550 mm.
Diffuser
The SFD-S light tunnel system is finished with a ceiling diffuser that gently distributes light throughout the room. Its prismatic, matt shade eliminates sharp shadows and spot reflections, creating a pleasant, even brightness. The diffuser is the visible part of the system from the interior and also serves a decorative function. It can be equipped with an additional SLO light source, which allows rooms to be illuminated even after dark.
External cladding
The external cladding of the light tunnel provides durable protection of the structure against water, wind and changing weather conditions. Made of corrosion‑resistant sheet metal, it features an integrated flashing that ensures a watertight connection with the roof surface without the need for additional mounting elements. The grey‑brown RAL 7022 finish blends harmoniously with modern roofing materials, giving the structure an aesthetically pleasing appearance.
